Four more succumb to Dengue in Lahore

LAHORE: After the death of four more Dengue patients in Lahore, the toll has now surged to 231 in the city while 258 in the Punjab province Thursday, Geo News reported.

The victims who died today include Rahat Bano aged 58, Rafiqa Bibi 76, Kiran 19 and Bashir Ahmed 56.

After the confirmation of 250 new cases of Dengue in past 24 hours, the number of patients has increased to 17,837 in the province. However, number of patients visiting the hospital has decreased.

Experts said that the number of patients would decrease with the change in weather.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif chaired the Dengue emergency committee meeting today and instructed to disseminate Dengue awareness CDs in the educational seminars.

The CM Punjab was told that a year long planning is being done to cure Dengue.

The meeting was attended by the members of National Assembly (MNAs) along with the Sri Lankan medical experts.
