That’s not possible during the winter months when the angle of the sun sinks lower into the southern hemisphere. From the beginning of October through March, the angle of the sun prevents much of North America from getting vitamin D making vitamin D-rich foods essential during the winter months. While getting out in the winter to play in the snow, jog, and ski are all ways to remain healthy and happy you should still be consuming vitamin D foods. The current recommendation is 400-600 IU per day.
