Govt seeks formation of special court for Musharraf treason trial
// ISLAMABAD: The Interior Minister on Monday sent the letter seeking to initiate
treason proceedings against former military dictator Pervez Musharraf to
the Law Ministry.
After receiving the letter, officials from
the Law Ministry have taken it to the Supreme Court Registrars office.
The letter seeks the formation of a special court for the trial of
Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the constitution.
Interior
Minister Chaurdhy Nisar Ali Khan announced on Sunday that the Federal
Investigation Agency (FIA) committee had submitted its inquiry report,
in light of which a treason case would be initiated against Musharraf..................//
