Despite Obama's luck and popularity that favored him being re-elected the US president for the second / final term, if there were third term facility for a single person to become US president, for Obama it would be quite impossible, rather he could be defamed during the then election campaign.
Over optimistic attitudes and activities last 4 years, as per critics, made him and US lose far more than gain.
