Memo is a reality and there was a conspiracy against the army and national security: Kayani

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in his reply to the Supreme Court stated that the memo was a reality and a conspiracy was being hatched against the army and national security, Geo News reported.

In the reply General Kayani writes that the Financial Times published Mansoor Ijaz’s story about the memo on October 10.

COAS Kayani was informed about DG ISI General Pasha’s meeting with Mansoor Ijaz on October 24 and Pasha was of the opinion that there was enough evidence to validate the authenticity of the memo.

The DG ISI said there was evidence which illustrated that Ijaz was in touch with Hussain Haqqani between May 9-11 and that they exchanged text messages and phone calls.

Kayani says on October 28 the spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry and Presidency denied the memo in separate statements.

Admiral Mike Mullen through his spokesperson first denied receiving the memo on November 8 but a few days later confirmed its receipt.

The reply goes on to state that on November 13, during a meeting with Prime Minister Gilani, I (Kayani) advised that those points of the memo which were leaked were very sensitive and that a decision had to be made on its being real or not.

According to the reply Kayani strongly insisted that the Prime Minister summon Haqqani so he can brief the country’s leadership about this matter.

Kayani told the prime minister that time was limited and the sooner we found out the facts the better it would be.

On November 15, Kayani said he was called by the President for a meeting and met him at two in the afternoon.

According to Kayani the prime minister had already informed the president about his recommendations. President Zardari informed Kayani that the decision to summon Haqqani had already been made.

On November 21, US General James Jones confirmed that he had taken the memo to Mullen.

Kayani said that he was part of a meeting which also included the prime minister, president and DG ISI on November 22.

It was during this meeting that Haqqani briefed all of them and Prime Minister Gilani asked for Haqqani’s resignation and ordered an investigation.

Towards the end Kayani writes that there was enough evidence validating the memo and there should be full review to evaluate the circumstance and facts behind it.

General Kayani said that the memo tried to decrease the morale of the Pakistan Army but was unsuccessful in doing so.

Comment: May Pakistani lovely people (nationals) and their beloved homeland's sovereignty, integrity, respect and honor always be well protected in hand of our brave, sincere, devoted and hardworking soldiers who inherit their ancestors' greatness and bright history!

ISLAMABAD: PML-N has filed another miscellaneous application before the Supreme Court to make three other people party in the Memegate case, Geo News reported Friday. PML-N leaders Ishaq Dar and Khwaja Asif have filed the plea.

The three included Pakistan's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Wajid Shamsul Hasan, journalists Shaheen Sehbai, Group Editor The News and Mohmmad Malick, Editor The News Islamabad.

The plea stated that the ambassador in various interviews with UK, US and Indian TV channels had claimed that Pakistan knew of May 02 Osama bin Laden (OBL) raid 8-10 days ago and even use of choppers was allowed. The ambassador also said that Pakistan helped US in tracking down Osama.

Mohammad Malick in his column has quoted Mehreen Zehra's piece in Newsweek that said Husain Haqqani and President Zardari had prior knowledge of Abbottabad operation.

The application also prayed the apex court to instruct Foreign Office to ensure Wajid's presence in the court for once and should not be allowed to leave the country until the investigations are over.

Comment:

Memo-gate judiciary justice seems, sounds and looks in process. Hope a suitable judgement in reality would be declared soon by the apex Supreme Court of Pakistan far before it can be considered as delayed.

Cute kitty is a fare old Dodger

DODGER by name, dodger by nature.

This cute ginger cat is a thrifty creature — catching free bus trips from his home town.

The moggy, who was named after the Artful Dodger from Oliver Twist, has taken to hopping on and off the public transport at the local bus station.

The 15-year-old Tom even sits on bemused passengers' laps as the bus takes up to ten mile round trips from Bridport to Charmouth in Dorset.

Dodger is such a regular customer that some of the drivers take tins of cat food to work with them to give to him.

They even know what stop to let him off at.

At the end of his journeys the eldery cat returns to his home and owner Fee Jeanes.

Mrs Jeanes, 44, believes Dodger first took a liking to the buses as they are warm like greenhouses when the sun is on them.

But the curious pet has since ended up being taken for several rides.

She said: "We moved here 19 months ago and our house backs on to the bus station.

"He is an old boy and is very friendly. At first Dodger kept going to the bus station because people there fed him tit-bits and scraps of food.

"But then he started climbing on board the buses because they are almost like greenhouses when it is sunny.

"Then last week I found out he had travelled to Charmouth and back, which is a ten mile round trip.

"I hadn't seen him all morning until my daughter Emily told me one of her friends had just seen him on the bus at Charmouth.

"I couldn't believe it and panicked. I got into my car to go off and look for him and then at that moment the bus pulled up near our house and lo and behold he got off.

"He had fallen asleep on board and nobody knew about it. When the driver realised he knew who Dodger was and where he lived and kept him on board.

"That afternoon I saw Dodger climb on board another bus and I rushed to tell the driver.

"I was shocked when she told me Dodger was always on there and liked to sit on the seats because they are warm from where people have been sitting.

"The drivers buy cat food for him and he sits on people's laps.

"Sometimes he just sits in the middle of the road and waits for the bus to turn up before he gets on."

Dodger is a familiar sight to regular bus passengers and drivers, but Mrs Jeanes still receives several calls a week asking if she has lost a ginger cat.

A spokesman for bus firm First said they didn't mind Dodger on their buses.

He said: "The drivers have been asked not to feed it because we recognise that cat has an owner and we do not want to discourage it from returning home for food and shelter, but in principle we do not have a problem with it being around the bus station.

"Given this cat is elderly we suspect it would be eligible for free travel, perhaps a bus puss, if such a thing existed."

Comment: How amazing and interesting! How enjoyable and entertaining to narrate and share the wonder story of this lovely cat!
